“Learn2Change – Global Network of educational activists” unites civil society activists from all over the world. Some members of the network work with formal others with informal organisations in their countries on local, regional or national level for a globally just and ecologically sound presence and future. They work with various topics, target groups and methods. This diversity is our treasure and strength and it unites us as well as the strong believe in the transformative power of education.

I organize a Fair Trade coffee project for the Ecumenical Centre in Oldenburg. Besides, I am engaged in environmental activities for children and within the programme „Education meets development“ at schools. In the past fifteen years, I have been working in a Madagascar-Germany-Switzerland network to plan and conduct environmental education and lemur conservation projects in Madagascar. I am looking forward to exchange on international cultural and scientific endeavors, and decolonization approaches.

I am an activist in labor/woman/green movement. Spending a political and educational year abroad in South Africa with the VNB and the NGO Peer-leader-International (former Mirantao) changed my way of thinking and taking action in global issues.  I am studying early childhood education and mostly paying attention to the question how to start building a new tomorrow by teaching and showing the kids how to take action and to be responsible today.

I am the president of the association of the women of the Waorani (AMWAE). The Waorani live in the biosphere reserve Yasuní in Ecuador. They have only been in contact with western civilization for two generations. AMWAE works for the visibility of the Waorani in the Ecuadorian Society and fights for the rights of the indigenous people. Rita is from Germany, living since 1986 in Nicaragua. The strong solidarity movement in the 1980s motivated her to go there. Together with two nicaraguan women, she is co-founder of the local NGO “La Cuculmeca”. She represents the city partnership between Solingen (Germany) and Jinotega (Nicaragua). In 2012 she created “systways” to work on consultancies in Central America and the Caribbean area.
