Learn2Change – A Global Network of Educational Activists
A Network of Educational Activists
Founded in 2015, Learn2Change brings together civil society education activists from many countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. Our members come from diverse backgrounds, working on various topics, engaging with different target groups, and using a wide range of learning and teaching methods.
Diversity as a Strength
We are an open and democratic network, built on mutual respect and appreciation for our diversity. This diversity is not just something we embrace — it is our strength and greatest asset.
Collaboration for Change
Through global dialogue, we explore the transformative power of education, challenging perspectives, sharing knowledge, and inspiring one another to create meaningful change. Since our inception, we have worked together on diverse projects and learning initiatives.
Transforming Education for a Just and Sustainable World
Learn2Change - A Platform for Transformative Learning
Learn2Change is more than a network — it is a platform and think tank for innovative learning approaches that contribute to a socially and ecologically just world. We believe in education as a driver of change.
Learning Across Borders - Uncovering New Perspectives
By learning together across the Global South and North, we aim to discover, develop, exchange and implement new approaches of learning and social change through global partnerships.. In doing so, we seek to decolonize our hearts and minds and reconnect with nature and our planet.
Guiding Questions for Education for Change
Some of our guiding questions are:
- What kind of world do we want to live in?
- What is the role of education in social and environmental transformation?
- What do we need to learn - and unlearn?
- What educational approaches are already inspiring and empowering people around the world?
Global Challenges Require Global Partnerships
Interconnected Crises and the Need for Global Change
The world is facing interconnected challenges: climate change, environmental degradation, social injustice, growing inequalities, and rising political and religious fundamentalism. Human rights, democracy and sustainability often play a subordinate role in the current process of globalization. A development model based on economic growth, extraction and exploitation has failed to provide just and sustainable solutions.
To create a more just and sustainable world, we must seek alternatives that challenge existing structures and promote fundamental changes in values, attitudes, and actions.
Transformative Power of Education in Global Partnerships
We believe in the transformative power of education and learning in global partnerships. Through global education dialogues, we exchange ideas, share knowledge and learn from each other. Personal stories build solidarity and knowing that people around the world are facing similar challenges and working for a more just world is a source of inspiration for our own actions.
By working together, we challenge stereotypes, rethink perspectives, and develop conscious, proactive change-makers. The world needs committed individuals in all sectors of society to drive the change we seek.
Collaboration, Transparency and Shared Responsibility
Coordination for Trustful Collaboration
Our network is coordinated through a Steering Group, which ensures smooth operations, strategic direction, and alignment with our shared goals.
Participatory Decision-Making and Transparency
We believe in participatory decision-making and open communication. Our members actively shape our activities, bringing in diverse perspectives. Transparent processes and shared responsibilities foster a strong and dynamic network.
Open Communication and Collective Decision-Making
Information flows through regular meetings, internal communications, and shared resources, ensuring that everyone is informed and engaged. Decisions within the network are made collectively whenever possible.
Financial Sustainability and Support
Our network is funded through a mix of public and private sources. Financial sustainability is a key focus we are working on continuously to ensure we can continue our work effectively.
Continuous Global Dialogue
Regular Learn2Change Online Talks provide a platform for discussion, idea exchange, and updates within the network and beyond.
New Members Welcome
By working together in this way, we foster a dynamic and inclusive network that thrives on collaboration and shared impact. Joining is easy — our network is open to individuals and organizations who share our mission. New members are welcomed into our activities without a formal process.
